Operational Learning Manager

Reporting to the Organisational Development Manager, you will lead and manage all learning activity to support the development of the operational workforce at Kilcoy Global Foods, through a broad range of proactive workforce training and capability development strategies while ensuring our team members are able to deliver on the key requirements of their roles in a safe manner to ultimately support the success of the business.



  • Oversee and coordinate operational learning and development for the plant – including role based training and upskilling team members
  • Manage the newly created team of on the job tutors and ensure they are provided the right support and guidance in their roles to develop and engage operational team members



  • Co-design the Kilcoy Global Foods Operational Learning framework including policies, guidelines, programs and tools
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of Operational inductions (first 90 days)
  • Design and coorindation of role-based operational training and development, including working with the L&D team to update the work instructions governance and process, providing a clear understanding on requirements for each role.
  • Design and deliver operational upskilling initiatives (particularly entry-level to skilled and supervisory upskilling)
  • Coach and support the Learning team (Tutors) to ensure they are executing on the requirements of their role
  • Work with your team to collect information on capability gaps across the organisation from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to,
    • performance reviews and behavioural assessments,
    • workforce planning tools
    • surveying Managers/Supervisors and team members to establish future training needs
  • Supporting the Organisational Development Manager with Leadership Development initiatives for Operational supervisors



To succeed in this role, you’ll need to have experience driving results and influencing operational business outcomes in a fast paced environment. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and bring an action oriented and high performance mindset.


You need to bring the following experience and qualifications:

  • Cert IV in Training and Assessment required
  • Experience working with RTO’s essential
  • Meat industry experience desirable
  • Experience developing learning frameworks
  • Previous experience leading an L&D team
