Commercial Finance Manager

We are on the hunt for a high calibre Commercial Finance Manager to be an integral part of our Food Solutions business that is gaining traction and looking to expand its range and footprint in the Australian market.

This exciting opportunity will see you as a fundamental contributor, involved in the grassroots of our Food Solutions business and its successes, and provide valuable financial leadership. This is a critical role during the development of our Food Solutions business.

Whilst the role will initially be based in our Birtinya office on the beautiful Sunshine Coast the potential for new facilities somewhere between Brisbane and the current office is on the horizon.


  • Preparation of month-end reports for the Protein Solutions Business Unit
  • Appraise business investment opportunities to grow earnings
  • Support sales product development from costing to in market advice to grow ROI
  • Strategy formulation for business plan inclusion
  • Planning, budgeting and monthly forecasting activities
  • Liaison with Operations on stock and SKU profitability including revenue and cost out measures
  • Manage administration of the finance and commercial agreements including contract management and associated cash flow of this start-up business including preparation lodgement / compliance with all State and Federal reporting requirements
  • Maintain the functionality of the financial, operations and sales reporting systems
  • Facilitate audits, ensuring timely provision of all necessary reports and information
  • Continuous improvement of business systems and processes
  • Finance representative of the Protein Solutions Leadership Team and Finance Leadership Team
  • Seek funding for R&D eligible projects
  • Sales finance analysis including growing margin by product and preparing recommendations on product channel mix
  • Risk assessments on product volume
  • Preparing marketing plans and expenditure plans including marketing benefit analysis


To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring the following experience and qualifications:

  • 5 + years similar role
  • Finance or Commerce Degree
  • CPA / CA qualified
  • Previous commercial experience in large scale company
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Proven ability to excel in complex environments
  • Manufacturing / Processing experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong technical and professional knowledge
  • Ability to evaluate, analyse and recommend
  • Ability to understand business needs from both a financial and operational perspective
