Kilcoy Pastoral Company Limited (KPC) are seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Production Manager with solid people skills to join our growing team. As Production Manager you will be accountable for all operations within the beef processing sector supporting and assisting with the implementation of business strategies and all Production related activities, enhancing our operations and exceeding targets.

With seven direct reports, this position will manage a large number of employees onsite during daily production, as a result  the successful candidate will be a strong leader who displays initiative, is prepared to be hands on when required and is a strategic and analytical thinker.

Roster:

  • Will be based on KPC’s Green/Gold lifestyle roster, which includes weekend work.
  • 2 weeks of 4 days on + 4 days off and 2 weeks of 3 days on 3 days off - (5am – 5pm)

Key Duties

  • To manage and lead cost-effective beef processing production activities and associated activities relevant to the shift operation.
  • Produce quality product, whilst at all times emphasising workplace health and safety, food/hygiene safety
  • Coach and develop the Supervisory Team to deliver production targets, drive best practice and ensure efficient, successful operation of product and minimisation of waste.
  • Monitor performance to establish efficiency and quality standards and initiate corrective action as required.
  • Meet agreed production capacity numbers whilst working closely with Sales, Logistics and Operations to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals.
  • KPI setting and performance management.
  • Oversee all employee based matters.

To be considered you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Extensive experience in leading manufacturing teams in a comparable role.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate teams to consistently meet and exceed expectations whilst providing a positive and safe environment
  • People management, development and influence that will support and lead a growing production team to deliver to expected outcomes within a changing environment
  • Strong knowledge and leadership of OHS requirements, HACCAP and QA procedures
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
  • Lead and complete projects from conception to completion
  • Solutions focus and consistent ability to follow through
  • Resource coordination that is flexible and efficient to deliver production requirements
  • An ability to develop and drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to communication with all stakeholders
  • Refined communication skills with an ability to build relationships, lead a team and support other business functions to achieve overall business objectives.
  • A strong sense of accountability and responsibility as well as a commitment to company values and the organization
  • Ability to work well in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.
  • Solid computer skills including strong literacy, mathematical and analytical skills
