Mechanical Apprentice (Fitter/Turner)

Kilcoy Pastoral Company Limited ("KPC") was established in 1953 and we have grown to become one of the largest beef processors in Australia. Currently we employ over 1200 people and our employees are the key to our success. KPC are seeking applications from keen, motivated individuals who would be interested in obtaining an Apprenticeship in the Fitting/Turning discipline within our Engineering Team.

KPC are looking for someone motivated to undertake the relevant and lengthy training and then continue as a qualified tradesperson. Working full-time, you will be mentored by industry professionals whilst developing into a Mechanical Fitter. The duration of the apprenticeship is 48 months; in which you will complete your Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade.

The ideal applicant for this role would:

  • be able to articulate why interested in the above opportunity.
  • have attained High School Certificate, Year 10 or higher.
    (Mature aged applicants are also eligible)
  • have the ability to pass an aptitude test.
  • demonstrate commitment to successfully achieve the study component of the Apprenticeship
  • have the ability to adapt to change and work in a fast paced environment
  • demonstrate an aptitude for problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • have a  high attention to detail
  • be highly motivated with a strong work ethic
  • have a positive attitude & a desire to achieve
  • have good time management skills
  • be motivated and show initiative
  • have great communication and customer service skills
