ABOUT THE ROLE:

Fulltime/Permanant position.

You will manage the Operational team to deliver cost-effective meat processing operations, meeting organisational targets and producing quality product, with workplace health and safety, food/hygiene safety and other required legislative compliance at the forefront.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead, coach and champion change across the business to deliver to organisational objectives and customer expectations
  • Ensure an efficient and professional information flow from Production across the site and externally, regularly reporting on daily operations, risks and opportunities
  • Report on operational data and information against set objectives and measures, guiding daily activities to respond to issues as they arise
  • Implement innovative and continual improvements for products, equipment and processes.
  • Take a project management lead to deliver to direction, timeframes and milestones, as well as, documenting and reporting on project activities
  • Review and deliver best practice across full range of compliance areas
  • Collate and analyse production data to ensure productivity and performance targets are met, and prepare accurate and timely reports
  • Ensure the coordination and allocation of resources to deliver production requirements is provided efficiently and effectively, within budget
  • Contribute to setting and delivering on operational goals and objectives
  • Deliver operational activities and projects within budget and timeframes
  • Deliver to budget, consistently reviewing and analysing production data to respond to potential and real barriers to meeting budget targets
  • Contribute to development of solutions to address organisational, industry and economic challenges
  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships across business functions
  • Manage the workflow and workload of the Operations team across shifts, to ensure efficient use of resources

 

ABOUT YOU:

To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following experience and skills:

  • 10 years+ experience in an operational management position
  • Strong leadership experience within FMCG or manufacturing essential
  • Experience in the meat industry highly regarded
  • Great interpersonal skills to be able to lead, coach and mentor your team
  • Enthusiastic and forward-thinking approach to leadership and management
  • Solution focused, fostering new ideas and initiatives
  • A collaborative and inclusive approach to communication with all stakeholders
  • Experienced in delivering to budget and schedules
  • An ability to drive a culture of accountability and continuous improvement with good critical analysis skills
  • Understanding of Food Quality and Safety Standards 
  • Attention to detail, initiative and time management skills
  • Advanced MS Excel
