THE OPPORTUNITY

Location: Sunshine Coast | Birtinya

The accountant’s role is to support the proper treatment for business transactions for KGF AU’s Head Office functions and bring together trading performance results for EOM Close processes. The position analyses key financial information to provide feedback that will aid managerial planning and commercial decision making that will ensure future growth and profitability of KGF Australia.  

This role is part of the accounting stream reporting to the KGF AU Group Financial Accounting Manager. The role is critical in assisting closing end of month accounts, driving the end of month calendar to completion, being a custodian of monthly P&L meetings across the business, business partnering on selected cost centre reporting to track expenditure and improve legacy processes and systems for automation and modernisation. 

The accountant role is a business facing position suited to an accountant with an aptitude for and interest in numbers, maths, business and production processes, as well as support in alignment of the consolidated group for the Australian Operations management results. 

Your Responsibilities

  • End of month close and reporting accordance with the scope of responsibilities. 
  • Monthly preparation and clearing of balance sheet reconciliations and reviews pre-end of month close in accordance with the scope of responsibilities. 
  • Standard Journal templates. 
  • Holding end of month pre and post meetings for continuous improvement to show stepped improvement in month end processing tasks. 
  • Assist with year-end audit and reporting. 
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting preparation, using actuals and year to go forecasts to extrapolate for the following year in conjunction with FP&A within Finance. 
  • Distribution of internal reports as per requirements. 
  • Any other ad hoc tasks as directed by the KGF AU Group Financial Accounting Manager. 

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor of Commerce Accounting Major
  • CPA Qualified preferred (or similar professional qualification)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Planning for performance.
  • Good understanding of the Australian Accounting Standards.
  • Strong skills in reporting. 
  • Critical and analytical thinking. 
  • Confident Power BI user. 
  • Understanding of Accounting / ERP systems
