Maintenance Electrician - Lifestyle Roster
Kilcoy Global Foods Coominya operates a state-of-the-art food processing facility in the Brisbane Valley. In 1997 the facility was originally established as a specialty, purpose-built beef patty manufacturer, servicing major quick service restaurants in Australia. The facility currently manufactures a variety of high-quality beef products for the Australian and export markets. Of critical importance is KGFC ability to consistently provide high quality, safe products to all of our customers. These are underpinned by numerous credentials which include internationally recognised certifications in food safety, quality, microbiological testing, safety and environmental.
PURPOSE
Kilcoy Global Foods Coominya is seeking a qualified Electrician to join our team in Coominya, Queensland. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety of our equipment and our team members.
The Position
- In this exciting role you will be utilizing both mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to maintain and enhance the performance of the plant and equipment.
- You will provide support to production and the site by undertaking planned preventative and reactive breakdown maintenance.
- You will be working 13 x 12hr shifts consisting of 7 day shifts and 6 night shifts over a 4 week rotation on a lifestyle roster. The lifestyle roster has you working 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours and 60 hours per week over the course of the month, Does this sound like the lifestyle you would enjoy?
- You must have a valid QLD electrical license for this position, please do not apply if you do not hold a valid license.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with safety, health and environment requirements.
- Proactively identify preventative maintenance across the site.
- Responsible for completion of planned maintenance.
- Support continuous improvement/project implementation.
- Provide technical support to machine operators.
- Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies.
- Communicating with machine operators and production supervisors.
About You
- Fully qualified Electrician and licensed.
- Able to work effectively as part of a team to achieve common goals.
- A proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a great work ethic.
- Ability to work on a rotating roster including shift work.
- Experience in industrial electrical work.
- Queensland Electrical Licence is a must (no overseas licence)
- Preventative and breakdown maintenance activities, with a strong focus on a preventative approach.
- Contribution of ideas and input to improved systems, procedures and maintenance.
- Engage with the production team to optimise the performance of all equipment on a daily basis.
- Assist in capital and continuous improvement projects as directed.
- Maintain a strong focus on health and safety.
- Understand the urgent nature of the business and manage competing priorities.
- Prioritise urgent repairs of equipment.
- Understand the importance of troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Coordinate and collaborate with contractors as well as other departments regarding reliable maintenance of the various sections of the plant.
