THE ROLE

We’re looking for a minimum 2 years’ experience and proactive Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Co-Ordinator to lead our safety initiatives at our Coominya processing facility. This role is critical in ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all team members. Our processing facility in Coominya is an established facility with over 25 years supplying to Quick Service Restaurants, to the domestic and the export markets. Where safety, quality, and excellence come together.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • implement, and manage WHS policies and procedures to meet compliance and operational needs.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, audits, and inspections to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  •  Lead incident investigations and develop strategies to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide training and support to employees and managers on WHS practices and requirements.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to foster a strong safety culture across the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant WHS legislation, standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain and report on key safety metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Who We Are Looking For

  • You have experience in a WHS role, ideally within manufacturing, agriculture, or food processing and hold a minimum of Cert 4 Workplace Health & Safety.
  • You have strong knowledge of WHS legislation and best practices. A knowledge of ISO 45001.
  • You have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence teams.
  • You have experience conducting risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Experience with workplace health and safety, experience with Work Cover QLD, work rehabilitation.
  • You have relevant qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety.
  • You have a hands-on approach and a commitment to fostering a safe workplace culture.
