ABOUT THE ROLE

Location: Lance Creek, Victoria

The purpose of the Injury Management Coordinator role is to lead the effective early intervention, rehabilitation, and return-to-work management of workplace injuries across the site. The role exists to minimise injury impact through timely first aid response, compliant case management, sustainable rehabilitation planning, and strong stakeholder coordination, while reducing claim duration, cost, and risk of escalation. Through data insights, injury trend analysis, and collaboration with operational leaders, the role also supports preventative safety initiatives and a recovery-focused workplace culture.

  • Support the organisation’s injury management strategy by ensuring consistent and compliant handling of low-risk claims.
  • Facilitate early intervention to reduce claim durations and minimise costs.
  • Provide reliable data and insights to assist in trend identification and preventative safety initiatives.
  • Provide immediate on-site first aid assessment and treatment for work-related injuries and illnesses, ensuring timely and appropriate care is delivered in line with site procedures and legislative requirements.
  • Coordinate early intervention support, determine suitability for return to work or alternate duties, and escalate medical treatment where required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all incidents, injuries, first aid treatments, and follow-up actions within the DoneSafe safety reporting system.
  • Monitor injury trends, support incident investigations, ensure corrective actions are completed, and work closely with operational leaders to reduce repeat injury risks through proactive prevention strategies.

 

ABOUT YOU

You will bring the following experience and qualifications:

  • Experience with Workers’ compensation claims management 
  • A recognised Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) Qualification is highly desirable
  • High level knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 QLD & Regulation 2014 QLD
  • Confidence in dealing with multiple stakeholder engagement
  • A flexible approach 
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and cohesively within a team environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled in conflict resolution
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation skills

 

Experience / Qualifications 

  • Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in injury management, return to work coordination or workers' compensation case management
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Qualification in Allied Health, Work Health & Safety, Case Management, Rehabilitation or related field
  • Certification as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (as required under jurisdictional law)
  • Demonstrated experience working with claims agents, treating providers, and WHS personnel
  • Experience with injury data analysis and reporting preferred
