THE OPPORTUNITY

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position analyses key financial information to provide feedback that will aid managerial planning and commercial decision making to ensure future growth and profitability of KGF Australia. An important part of the Management Accountant’s role is to support the proper treatment for business transactions for KGF AU’s functions and bringing together trading performance results for EOM Close processes.

This role is part of the management accounting stream reporting to the KGF AU Group Management Accounting Team Leader. The role is critical in assisting closing end of month accounts, driving the end of month calendar to completion, custodian of monthly P&L meetings across the business, business partnering on selected cost centre reporting to track expenditure and improve legacy processes and systems for automation and modernisation.

The management accountant role is a business facing position suited to an accountant with an aptitude for and interest in numbers, maths, business and production processes, as well as support in alignment of the consolidated group for the Australian Operations management results.

 

ABOUT YOU

YOUR RESPONSILBITIES

  • Weekly report compilation and variance analysis to budget and operations data 
  • Ensuring maintenance of relevant, accurate & timely accounting data 
  • Cohesive variance analysis model to understand drivers actual operational results to budget and forecasts on key drivers to measure performance and plans for Operations and Supply chain.
  • Assist in the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting preparation, using actuals and year to go forecasts to extrapolate for the following year in conjunction with FP&A within Finance.
  • Distribution of internal reports as per requirements.
  • Continuous improvement on efficiencies in financial end of month process, transactional processing, and reporting.
  • Business partnering with functional representatives included in the cost centre reviews to develop supplementary information that support actual performance each month.

 

TO BE SUCCESSFUL

You will bring with you:

  • Experience in a large organisation handling intercompany transactions.
  • Ideally some experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience using an ERP system for financial management - we use Microsoft Dynamics 365.
  • Experience using Power BI.
  • Attention to detail and commercial acumen.
  • Willingness to work onsite Monday - Friday

Qualifications required:

  •  Formal financial qualifications such as a Diploma of Accounting, Bachelors Degree or CPA.
