Reporting to the Rehabilitation Manager, the successful applicant will deliver proficient rehabilitation management, proactively delivering best possible outcomes in injury management and cost impacts to the business. This role will provide the full range of rehabilitation, injury management and return to work functions that support business objectives and which has a direct impact on business outcomes. The successful candidate will be a hands on collaborative Rehabilitation Co-ordinator, offering support/ efficiency to overall processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with all stakeholders to coordinate and monitor workers’ compensation claims and return to work programs for all workplace injuries
  • Develop, implement and monitor strategies for return to work including return to work plans
  • Understand, interpret relevant legislation to ensure we meet our regulatory requirements
  • Collate and maintain all relevant claims information and documentation for our claims and applicable system
  • Liaise between management, supervisors, employees, WorkCover, medical providers and other external parties
  • Manage the claims and return to work process from end to end to ensure the best outcome is achieved for all involved
  • Plan, prepare and conduct claim reviews with the key stakeholders to ensure effective claims management and achieve reductions in claims costs


To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring the following experience and qualifications:

  • Workers’ compensation claims management experience with WorkCover Insurer claims
  • Workers’ compensation claims management and Return to Work experience at an employer
  • A recognised Rehabilitation & Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) Qualification is highly desirable
  • High level knowledge of the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act 2003 QLD & Regulation 2014 QLD.
  • Knowledge around other state and territory schemes, Acts and guidelines is desirable but not essential
  • Confidence in dealing with multiple stakeholder engagement
  • A flexible approach when faced with competing priorities
  • Initiative and ability to work independently and cohesively within a team environment
  • Proactive and diligent approach to all tasks with a commitment to handling multiple cases simultaneously
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled in conflict resolution
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Relevant privacy legislation
  • Allied Health Qualifications would be HIGHLY desirable
