Knife Sharpening Tutor – The Role:

This role has been created in a full-time capacity to support the Production Teams with knife care and safety, whilst always emphasising workplace health and safety, food/hygiene safety and all other required legislative compliance.

Responsibilities:

• All aspects of knife sharpening, coaching, mentoring, analysing and performance.
• Maintaining the Knife Sharpening area, Hygiene and Sanitation requirements and Work Health and Safety Compliance.
• Operating all current and new knife sharpening machinery.
• Supporting new and existing workforce with knife sharpening demands
• On and off the job Support- theory and practical demonstration activities
• Communicating with the Operations Team and providing feedback
• Always keep training materials up to date
• Assist with any changes to our work instructions in relation to knife care and safety.
• To lead by example regarding Work Health and Safety

The applicant must ideally demonstrate:

• Meat Processing Industry experience
• Training experience in a similar environment
• A solution focus and ability to follow through
• Will need to be flexible and reactive to production needs.
• A collaborative and inclusive approach to communication with all stakeholders
• Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
• A motivated and enthusiastic disposition, and be a team player
• Attention to detail, initiative, and time management skills
• Ability to use Microsoft Office (Outlook and Excel) for general communication

All training will be provided for the right candidate, along with ongoing support.
